How to set Phpmyadmin password on XAMPP or WAMP Server

The most of  application needs database application username and password. But XAMPP or WAMP server Phpmyadmin application has login with null password. So we are not able to install that CMS application on localhost. So first we need to set phpmyadmin password. This Guide show you How to set Phpmyadmin password on XAMPP or WAMP Server.

Method:

Step 1: First start XAMPP or WAMP server.

Step 2: Now open your browser and type localhost and click phpMyAdmin under option in sidebar.

Step 3: Now phpMyAdmin login without any password, don’t select any db

Step 4: Click “Privileges” or “Users”. You’ll see all the users on MySQL’s privilege tables.

Step 5: Check the user “root” whose Host value is localhost, and click the “Edit Privileges” icon.

Step 6: In the “Change password” field, click “Password” and enter a new password.

Step 7: Retype the password to confirm. Then click “Go” to apply the settings.

Step 8: Goto “C:\xampp\phpMyAdmin” or “C:\wamp\apps\phpMyAdmin” and find “Config.inc.php” file.

Step 9: Open “Config.inc.php” file in Text editor like Notepad++.How to Set phpmyadmin Password on XAMPP Server?

 

Step 10: Find the line $cfg [‘Servers’] [$a] [‘auth_type’] = ‘config’; in “config.inc.php” file.

Changes as

 

Step 11: Now open browser and type “localhost/phpmyadmin”.

Step 12: Enter username is “root“. password is your_password. press GO button.

Finally you can set PhpMyAdmin password successfully on XAMPP or WAMP server. Now you can use some CMS which need database password on localhost for your testing job.
